In 2011, BFJ of Southwest Michigan provided a grant to Dennisha Ware to cover the cost of filing for 501(c)(3) status. Dennisha’s Village is now up and running as a non-profit providing love, support, and transitional housing for teenage mothers and their children. Those mothers and children have appointments that need to be met, and Dennisha approached us in Fall 2012 seeking partial funding for a van to transport the teen mothers and their children to and from these appointments. Dennisha is seeking additional funding from other sources to cover the cost of the van. If, for some reason, she is unable to find the funding necessary for purchasing a van, the money from BFJ will be used for home repairs. We applaud Dennisha in her mission and agreed to grant her $1200 toward the purchase of a van or home repairs.
